New challenges motivate Ana Gutiérrez. Never one to settle for the “Same old, same old,” Ana relishes the opportunity to grow by testing her limits.

That doesn’t mean new opportunities can’t be a little challenging, though. One of the Denver market’s top Environmental attorneys, Ana spoke with a number of highly regarded law firms, and she has positive things to say about all of them. But one firm spoke to her innate need to be challenged.

“What was most exciting when we came to this conversation with Womble was this opportunity to open the firm’s Denver office,” she said. “That was something that no other law firm in Denver could offer us, and while it was the absolute scariest thing about the opportunity, it was also the best thing about the opportunity.”

She says there were questions: Could Womble offer the support her clients need? Would clients move to an unfamiliar firm? Would her practice suffer while she and her partners found their footing in a new spot? In addition, she was in the middle of a major client matter at the time she came to Womble.

Everything came together, thanks to Ana’s good work and the support of the firm. Womble supported her clients and her practice beyond her expectations (that big client was extremely pleased with how the transition went). Her practice remained busy even during the move. And her clients came with her.

“For those laterals who are thinking, ‘I have a massive project on my plate. I don't know if I can move through a transition while also maintaining such an important matter for a high-valued client,’ I'm here to tell you, you can do it. I did it. It was seamless, and the transition went well,” she said.

“It was absolutely a leap of faith, and I would do it again. You ask me today, you ask me tomorrow, I would absolutely do it again.”
